Joseph Peddie is a composer and orchestrator based in Wales, specialising in contemporary classical scoring as well as arrangements for mainstream music. Originally from London, Joseph began his musical journey at the age of seven with the piano, later expanding his instrumental range to include flute and saxophone. He has performed with numerous orchestras and big bands, such as the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra (KYWO) and the Jewish Music Institute Big Band. During his secondary school years, Joseph studied under acclaimed cellist David Burrowes of the Cirrus Quartet, with whom he explored and performed Baroque trio repertoire by composers such as Bach and Purcell.

At RWCMD, Joseph collaborates regularly with student chamber groups including the Lanzino Trio and the Leary Quintet. He has also taken on projects with professional ensembles such as the Absolute Zero Viola Quartet, Matt Denton of the Carducci Quartet, and Yu Yasuraoka formerly of the London Sinfonietta. Currently, he is writing for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales through their Composition: Wales  competition.
